Lauren Harris, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Lauren Harris, an award-winning audiologist, earned her Bachelor of Science in speech pathology and audiology with honors at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and both her Master of Science and clinical doctorate in audiology at the school’s Health Science Center in Memphis. She is board-certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and state-licensed.

Being born profoundly deaf and benefiting from cochlear implants from an early age gave Dr. Harris a personal perspective on hearing loss. After initially resisting suggestions from others that she’d make an excellent audiologist, she embraced an inner calling to serve people who shared similar hearing-loss experiences and ultimately switched her undergraduate studies from neuroscience.

As a HearStrong Champion and recipient of numerous other awards, Dr. Harris cherishes the opportunity not only to show patients that they aren’t alone but also to demonstrate that hearing loss doesn’t have to be a limitation. Outside the office, she enjoys exploring Aiken with her husband and three dogs; baking; writing for her blog, Hearing Lauren; and riding horses.
